The Mascot Project incorporates multimedia and social space. To properly complete the assignment students are required to collaborate with each other as well as engage the larger college community outside of the art department beyond the campus. In addition to creating the mascot made from found objects, they make stickers and signs as well as decide what they will "mascot." Within the assignment this can be almost anything. In the past students have advocated for such things as clean water, animal rights, 'fast-fashion", student rights, and LGBTQ rights.
